TM Insight co-founder Travis Erridge has won Australian Young Entrepreneur of the Year (AYEY) in the professional services segment.

The step up comes on the back of winning the same gong at the Melbourne Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards last month.

The national awards gala was held recently at the Sofitel Gold Coast.

Erridge attended the gala with his business partner and fellow co-founder Milan Andjelkovic, who was ineligible for the awards due to age.

"It's an award dedicated to the whole TM insight team for always being best in class and a team of entrepreneurs," Erridge says of the AYEY accomplishment.

The supply chain property and project management firm was founded when the pair lost their property development jobs during the global financial crisis, Erridge tells Business News Australia, which organises the awards.

"During that time, a lot of our clients would come to us for help, so that’s how we started," he says.

"Since then, we’ve grown into a multi-disciplinary, end-to-end business that’s currently serving all of Australia, New Zealand and now in South East Asia."

Andjelkovic adds that their customers look to the firm to "stand behind its solution design and deliver it. Rather than leaving in the business case, seeing it all the way through".

The South East Asian expansion has kicked off in Singapore, he adds, with regional levels of sophistication approaching what is seen in Australia.

The challenge for the company was now recruiting people with the right skills to realise the move.
