US specialised international logistics firm values sensitive shipments expertise

MNX snaps up Logical Freight Solutions
LFS and MNX are now in the same stable

California-based MNX Global Logistics has bought Melbourne-headquartered international logistics solutions provider Logical Freight Solutions (LFS), continuing a recent trend in Australian transport-related takeovers and mergers.

The buy, for an undisclosed sum, comes as changes occur involving Prixcar Services and Automotive Holdings Group (AHG) businesses and services.

LFS serves the healthcare industry and has locations in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US.

According to MNX, LFS complements MNX’s growth in time- and temperature-sensitive shipments and enhances its Asia-Pacific presence.

"The pace of growth in patient-centric medicine, with its strict requirements for temperature-controlled transportation and time-definite delivery, underscores the role that specialty time-critical logistics providers will continue to play in the life sciences and healthcare industries," MNX CEO Paul J Martins says.

"LFS shares our customer-centric culture and geographic footprint.

"This combination allows our new and existing customers to experience an expanded suite of logistics services tailored specifically for the healthcare, life sciences, and medical device industries around the world."

LFS, founded in 1994, casts its acquisition as a gain for the firm and its customers.

"Since its inception, Logical Freight Solutions has steadily built an infrastructure and specialized expertise that provides our customers with true door-to-door service, from internal supplier to end-user," LFS CEO Steve Cheetham says.

Owned by private equity firm The Riverside Company since 2012, MNX has been active in the Asia Pacific regions in the past, last year purchasing Singapore-based Aero Express Logistics.
