Jessica Ip to drive online retail-focused strategy for the parcel delivery firm

With an aim to enhance its online retail strategy, CouriersPlease has appointed a new national e-commerce manager.

Jessica Ip will be responsible for designing and implementing a suite of new e-commerce solutions to improve last-mile delivery, enhance customer experience and improve the company’s overall standing in a competitive parcel delivery market.

Ip has a decade of experience improving operational efficiency by aligning business objectives with technology innovations, and implementing e-business initiatives.

She comes from Rohlig Australia, where she worked as the courier product manager.

Prior to that, Ip spent seven years in technology consultancy at Qantas Freight.

"To take the helm of CP’s e-commerce management, at what is such a pivotal time for the logistics, supply chain and retail industries, is a great opportunity," Ip says.

"With the growing demand for online shopping and competition from major global players, our focus is on enhancing the customer experience right from the time an order is made to the final moment when the parcel is delivered.

"To meet customer expectations, we will continue to innovate and implement technology solutions such as CP’s flexible delivery choices, on-demand notifications giving customers the choice to redirect their parcel to our network of parcel lockers and retail outlets, leave the delivery without a signature, or with a neighbour close by if they won’t be home to receive their order."

CouriersPlease CEO Mark McGinley has welcomed Ip to the new role.

"Jessica’s experience implementing strategic business technology innovations will be a great asset for CP, as we work to develop more solutions to help ease the delivery experience for our customers and online retailer partners," McGinley says.

"She will be key in continuing to roll out our network of POPPoints in retail outlets around the country, and implementing our flexible delivery choices."
