McGrathNicol puts SCF on the block after restructure
A buyer is wanted for control of SCF Group

 

Control of national transport and shipping container firm SCF Group is open to bidders.

The move comes five months after UK private equity company Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) brought in receivers McGrathNicol for holding company Popeye Holdco, and five years after ICG bought into the business, taking over Archer Capital’s 60 per cent stake.

Shares in Adelaide-headquartered national firm SCF reside with by Popeye Bidco.

It is owned by Popeye Holdco for which McGrathNicol is now seeking expressions of interest.

SCF says it manages 13,000 new and used containers for sale and hire as well as design, with depots in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Karratha, Perth and Sydney.

Servicing major transport and logistics companies and those in other industries, its product range includes tanks, containers for site storage, accommodation and intermodal equipment which includes refrigeration, side doors, pallet wide and high cube containers.
