Regional logistics productivity on CILTA agenda

Wodonga event to examine road and rail developments and opportunities

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTA) will hold a Wodonga event focused on the evolution of transport infrastructure and industry progress.

Titled ‘The Next Generation of Logistics in Regional Victoria’, it will see industry executives, experts and planners from industry and government will focus on how these will impact on the eastern Murray River region and bordering areas.

“The face of Regional Logistics in Victoria is set to change,” CILTA says.

“The prospect of the Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail Project being realised and the expansion of the High Productivity Vehicle Network throughout the State and along the Hume corridor will bring a new dimension to freight productivity in Regional Victoria. Logistics in the Wodonga region has grown massively over the last decade and these new road and rail developments will propel the industry to new heights.

“Significant change will impact not only on the Wodonga/Albury region but also on many neighbouring regions and their logistic hubs and facilities.

“The logistics industry needs to do its strategic planning now.”

The 9am-5pm event will be held on August 8 at The Cube venue at 118 Hovell Street, Wodonga.
