CouriersPlease launches after-hours delivery service
CouriersPlease says the new service will benefit online shoppers and retailers alike.

A new flexible delivery scheme by CouriersPlease (CP) enables customers to nominate alternative addresses for delivery and pick-up after standard work hours, seven days a week.

Customers can send an email notification during transit to redirect parcels to alternative address or nominated retail outlets (PopShop) or parcel lockers (PopStations), or give the courier company authority to drop the package without a signature.

The new service also allows customers to drop off their return packages at PopShops or PopStations at any time as an alternative to arranging parcel pick-up from the customer’s home or workplace.

The parcel delivery firm plans to have up to 1000 PopPoints in its network by the end of the year.

CouriersPlease CEO Mark McGinley says flexible deliveries are critical to ensuring growth of e-commerce.

"In our experience, online shoppers commonly nominate their home address for deliveries knowing they won’t be home to receive them, because more often than not, they have no other choice," he says.

"With the Australian online retail market worth $20.1 billion and growing, CP will ease the delivery process through its on demand delivery options and network of PopPoints around Australia.

"By the end of the year, CP will have 1000 PopPoints, and will continue to grow them.

"These new offerings will not only benefit online shoppers, but they will ease the burden for retailers and businesses sending products across the country and internationally."

A surge in online personal shopping in Australia is seeing many parcel delivery firms attempting to tap into the growing market using flexible delivery services, with the most-recent being DHL’s On Demand Delivery service that was launched here last month.
