DHL partners with Arrow Energy on Queensland gas project

The fourth-party logistics partnership will involve customised systems, processes and transportation services.

DHL Supply Chain has formed a partnership with Arrow Energy to provide fourth-party logistics services to the proposed Bowen gas project in central Queensland.

DHL will manage the end to end supply chain for the proposed project, which will require more than 4 million road kilometres of domestic transport a year.

Arrow says it will benefit from real time visibility across more than 100,000 deliveries, supporting the governance of the project and ensuring close adherence to the construction schedule.

“This is a significant and strategic partnership for our business,” DHL Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea CEO Terry Ryan says.

“It is the largest energy customer we’ve supported in Asia-Pacific and [we will be] providing Arrow with comprehensive supply chain solutions through a single interface.”

Ryan says all services will meet Arrow’s rigorous health, safety, security and environmental standards.

“The logistics requirements associated with unconventional energy in remote geographies can be enormous and ever-changing,” Ryan says.

“This requires a robust logistics process to maximise drilling utilisation and labour productivity.”
