Datamax-O’Neil has chosen Altech Computers Corporation as a value-added distributor for its products in Australia.

The label and receipt printing solutions provider says Altech will enhance its reach into the consumer market.

IT distribution firm Altech offers  vendor products to the IT-resellers and system builders and will carry such Datamax-O’Neil items as the E-Class printer with wireless and portable battery pack options, along with PCL-enabled Workstation Series and Performance Series printers, bringing laser and ink-jet PCL technology to the thermal label printer market.

"The company’s new focus to expand into the automation and identification (AIDC) and point-of-sale (POS) markets have positioned them as the ideal partner to bring Datamax-O’Neil products into the consumer space," Australia and New Zealand Regional Manager Vino Rodrigues says.

Datamax-O’Neil recently released a new printing product, the p1725 Performance Series printer.

"The device adjusts automatically to maximise "print quality and increase printhead life, while the color touchscreen display eases daily operation and maintenance" the firm says.

"The unique auto-load feature virtually eliminates label waste, and by utilising the industry standard HP compatible PCL print language and Linux operating system, the p1725 is easily integrated into SAP and other ERP network environments."
