Beaumont Tiles to open west Sydney DC

MD Bob Beaumont says facility will support expansion in the city

Beaumont Tiles is aiming to open an $11m distribution centre in Sydney’s west early this year.

Managing Director Bob Beaumont says a deal had been signed by the Adelaide-based family company to locate the centre in the Bungaribee Estate at Huntingwood.

Beaumont says the location − 39km west of the CBD with ready access to the M4 and M7, feeding into the new WestConnex link and Port Botany − is ideal.

“Beaumont Tiles moves about 60 semi-trailer loads of tiles through its Australian supply chain each week, so access to efficient logistics is critical,” Bob Beaumont says.

“Above all, the NSW expansion plan is a vote of confidence in the future of the retailing and home improvement and construction sectors.”

Beaumont Tiles Chief Operations Officer Danny Casey says the distribution centre was a brand new, high specification facility developed by Goodmans and built by Prime Constructions.

“It’s an ecologically sustainable design in keeping with our own green ethos.”

With undercover hard stand areas and 10,000 sq m of space, the facility will service most of the company’s existing 18 NSW stores, plus up to a dozen new outlets.

“We’re looking at opening our new store sites mainly in metropolitan Sydney where we currently have five shops,” Bob Beaumont says.

“The distribution centre will service their needs as well those of our future outlets.
