Lauched today in Australia, DHL Supply Chain’s new ‘Cool Green Cell’ packaging solution specifically targets
pharmaceutical and medical products.

The packaging, which is reusable and returnable, was introduced in in NSW and QLD with all other states set to be live by the end of 2013.

Made of high quality polyurethane, Cool Green Cell packaging is intended for the delivery of temperature controlled pharmaceutical and medical products requiring storage between +2°C and +8 °C.

DHL Supply Chain Vice President Life Sciences & Healthcare Saul Resnick says being easily identifiable, the Cool Green Cell
packaging solution
will be perfect
for use by pharmacies, hospitals and clinicians.

“It means our customers can reduce their supply chain costs and the time they would normally dedicate to waste management, all the while knowing they are using a solution that is environmentally friendly,”
Resnick says.

“The Cool Green Cell packaging is unique in that DHL has full visibility of the delivery cycle; from warehouse to destination,” Resnick adds.

“Everything in the Cool Green Cell supply chain is linked via radio-frequency identification (RFID). Because each package has a unique identification code, shipments are immediately identifiable as to their location in the supply chain.”

DHL will launch The Cool Green Cell in other countries within the Asia Pacific region in due course.
