FedEx introduces a new cold shipping package

Global logistics company to expand its temperature controlled packaging portfolio with a new cold shipping option

Global logistics company FedEx is expanding its temperature controlled packaging portfolio with a new cold shipping option.

“We are seeing increasing demand for temperature-controlled shipping that is matching the rapid growth of the healthcare sector across Asia Pacific,” says FedEx Asia Pacific President David L. Cunningham Jr.

The two most critical factors affecting healthcare transportation is time and temperature. FedEx’s new patented product achieves a temperature of 4 degrees Celcius in less than five minutes without the use of gel packs or dry ice, and maintains a constant temperature for up to 96 hours.

“As medical technology continues to advance, so does the transportation technology FedEx offers customers,” says Cunningham.

“Whether our customers are shipping pharmaceuticals, lab samples, devices or other critical items, they depend on us to offer time-definite, temperature-controlled solutions.”

The cold shipping option is part of FedEx’s broad portfolio of healthcare solutions and can be used in combination with SenseAwareSM and FedEx Priority Alert services.
