Manly-based surfboard products company will implement Epicor’s best-in-class distribution solution to support growth across multiple regions

Manly-based surfboard products company Global Surf Industries (GSI) will implement Epicor’s best-in-class distribution solution to support its growth across multiple regions.

Founded in 2002, the leading distributor of world surf brands has wholly-owned operations in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

It is supported by a large network of distribution specialists around the world.

Today, GSI has a portfolio of 16 surfboard and stand up paddle brands.

After decades of cottage industry-style operations, the time for a better way of supplying surfboards to the international market has well and truly arrived.

"We are looking for Epicor Distribution to fulfil our needs as a single solution across our global business and integrate the front-end and back-end of the business," says Global Surf Industries CEO Mark Kelly.

"We also have requirements for a global distribution system with multi-currency capabilities," he says.

"We sat through a number of presentations from vendors across different countries, but the Epicor Distribution solution is made for distribution companies like us.

Strong growth and an aggressive expansion strategy were also key considerations.

We are looking to grow the company," Kelly says. "I would like to grow 20-30 percent before we put more staff on, and Epicor Distribution will take our processes and efficiency in our business to the next level: it’s a 2013 system.

"If we want to double our revenue, I think the Epicor system is the system that will help us get there."

Epicor Distribution is expected to increase the distribution company’s efficiency by linking with GSI’s business and consumer websites.

"The Epicor Distribution system can link into our B2B and B2C websites," Kelly says.

"The B2B website gives our customers a portal into the back-end of the business, and by linking Epicor with our B2C website, we can run the transactions completely through the software program without any internal interaction."

A technology provider for wholesale distributors worldwide Epicor has implemented over 4,800 distributors at more than 10,000 locations globally.
