Wireless device technology provider Brightstar will manage Best Buy’s entire inventory of returned mobile devices in the United States.

Brightstar has provided technology, product and direct-to-consumer delivery services within the leading retailer’s US mobile device category since 2009.

The new new partnership will see Brightstar consolidate and optimise Best Buy’s multiple device return channels, significantly improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Best Buy will also leverage Brightstar’s domestic and global distribution channels to improve device resale values in secondary markets, offering customers attractive trade-in opportunities to upgrade to the newer product models and technologies.

Brightstar will also manage the receipt, sorting, triage, repair, refurbishing and repackaging of mobile phones that come back to Best Buy through its various service programs, including the 'Trade-In and Buy Back', as well as via general returns and exchanges.

Brightstar claims its reverse supply chain platform increases the speed at which wireless devices can be returned and processed.
