Darwin building supplier goes with Toyota

Darwin’s Trade Building Supplies has commissioned two new three-tonne capacity Toyota forklift trucks.

The family-owned builders’ supplier says the two Toyota 32-8FG30 forklifts will boost safety, productivity and machine availability at its Berrimah headquarters.

Commissioned in May, the three tonne payload forklifts will load building supplies, including packs of timber.
Sister company Allltools is also poised to purchase two new petrol/gas Toyota forklifts in the new financial year.

Trade Building Supplies’ roofing-truss plant already has a four-tonne payload Toyota forklift but Company Director Darren Treumer says the two new units will replace another brand.

Treumer says the business owns many Toyota vehicles so it made sense to switch to Toyota for the latest forklift purchase.

“Overall, Toyota has a very good name in the Northern Territory and the forklifts always provide good resale value,”
he says.

“Toyota forklifts have excellent safety features and the models we have just purchased have been highly specified, with features such as weighing scales.

“SAS Automatic Fork Levelling Control, ergonomic controls and smooth, quiet operation from the Toyota engine has greatly improved our workplace operations.”

In addition, Treumer says spares availability was an issue with the company’s previous machines.

“We now have the peace of mind of knowing that if we do need a spare part, they’re readily available at the local Toyota forklift dealer, Western Diesel.”

Trade Building Supplies was founded in 2004 to meet the need for a quality building supply company that focused on ‘old school’ Australian values and attention to detail.

The company supplies a huge range of building products, from roof trusses to all general building material and hardware items on all types of projects, whether they be residential, commercial or industrial, throughout the Northern Territory.
