Beumer Opti-Drive drive sorter

The OptiDrive drive system reduces loop sorter energy requirements by about 75 percent compared with conventional linear motors

The OptiDrive drive system reduces loop sorter energy requirements by about 75 percent compared with conventional linear motors.

Drive systems are particularly definitive for the effectiveness of highly automated, chain-driven machines sorting individually packaged goods such as in the post office, express freight companies, airports or mail order firms.

This applies particularly in the current climate with increasing energy and raw material prices and the need to reduce carbon footprint.

The Beumer Group places particular importance on the sustainability aspects of its

systems which play an important role in enabling users to work economically.

The company’s loop sorter is now equipped with the new OptiDrive drive system, which works on the principle of friction drive.

The friction wheel always acts at an optimum working point which increases efficiency enormously and minimises wear. Fewer drives are required per system thanks to the higher performance capability.

With the appropriate design, low-noise and maintenance-free operation is also possible.

The noise burden for the employees is also reduced, as the OptiDrive drive system does not need fans.
