ERP supplier Infor becomes the ‘Official Software Provider’ for the most successful Formula One team Scuderia Ferrari.
The announcement follows over 15 years of work between Infor and Ferrari including the use of
Infor’s ERP systems to cover the main production processes for Ferrari’s sports cars, racing cars and spare parts.
Last year Ferrari migrated all its information system data to Infor’s ERP LN version, allowing for the greater flexibility and customisation required for the production of Ferrari’s cars
Improvements include the streamlining of Ferrari’s supply chain by implementing
Infor’s ERP suite,
which helped assist in Ferrari’s recent increase in demand for its sports cars.
"Our software helps Ferrari build great cars, including the Formula One cars," says
Infor CEO Charles Phillips.
"We’ve worked with Ferrari to significantly expand production capacity in response to growing demand, without having to build a new plant."
As part of the sponsorship agreement, the Infor logo will appear on Scuderia Ferrari’s F1 championship contender, race team support vehicles, communication materials, the Ferrari website, and official merchandising products.
The announcement coincides with the unveiling of the 2012 Ferrari F1 car, which the team hopes will successfully challenge Red Bull Racing for this year’s championship.
The new car will be on show for the first time in Melbourne in March this year for the first stage of the F1 championship.
