Supercheap Auto has capped-off another successful year by being named as winner in two categories at the Oracle Retail World Awards in Sydney this week.

The Queensland-based business was crowned ‘Retailer of the Year’ and won ‘Best Advertising and Marketing Campaign’ for its achievements in the areas of growth and development.

Chief Operating Officer David Ajala says he was honoured that the team had been recognised for its hard work in the retailing industry, especially in such uncertain economic times.

"The current economic climate has served out some harsh conditions to retailers, but Supercheap Auto has maintained its position as a value-driven retailer even in the toughest of times," Ajala says.

He says Supercheap’s success can be attributed to its clearly defined business plan and team of dedicated staff.

"By maintaining the focus on our customers and ensuring we provide them with high quality products at affordable prices in an enjoyable store environment, we were able to meet and exceed all of our objectives for 2010."

Operating under the Super Retail Group, Supercheap Auto is Australasia’s leading automotive retailer, with 273 stores located throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The 2011 Oracle Retail World Awards were held on June 27 at the Sydney Convention Centre.
