Track and trace software
specialist Matthews Intelligent Identification will
release an updated version of its award-winning iDSnet suite at AUSPACK PLUS 2011.

iDSnet Manager Version 2 integrates all the coding and labelling equipment required to deliver a true product-traceability solution throughout manufacturing businesses, creating more streamlined operations.

Mark Dingley, who heads up the IDS Group within Matthews that developed the software, says this latest Package Code Management (PCM) gives manufacturers a host of advantages.

“The upgraded version of the iDSnet suite is flexible, so a manufacturer can customise it to their individual business needs,” Dingley says.

“It shows staff exactly what’s happening on the production floor.”

“iDSnet also automatically generates emails when equipment needs maintenance, plus gives printer status alerts for warning and fault messages.

“All this allows for better decision making to increase plant operating efficiency.”

Dingley says iDSnet Manager collects data from every coding and labelling station as well as other input sources such as scanners and photo eyes, that are directly related to collecting reliable production throughput of primary, secondary and pallet volumes.

“The application uses this data to run dashboard reports, with in-depth, real-time production line performance monitoring, giving actual production efficiencies, including idle times and
breakdowns, plus reports on what’s causing production stoppages,” he says.

“Then, along with these reports, iDSnet Manager connects in with shop floor scoreboards.

“This real-time information makes operators and line supervisors, for example, instantly aware of current production efficiencies against known targets.

“It also alerts them to issues, so these can be quickly addressed, and any significant productivity losses avoided.

iDSnet Manager’s customised web-based dashboards and reports give plant managers visibility and insight into production efficiencies by date and line.

“This gives them the ability to take immediate action to avoid downtime, as well as the confidence to take long-term strategic decisions based on actual real time data,” Dingley says.

Matthews will demonstrate iDSnet Enterprise and the new iDSnet Manager Version 2 at AUSPACK PLUS.
