Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has announced the first major restructure of the company since the airport was privatised in 1997, including a ‘think tank’ for long-term planning and new senior management team.

BAC CEO and managing Director Julieanne Alroe says the new structure is designed to position the company to meet challenges and opportunities across key areas such as planning, regulatory change, property development and the changing global airport business model.

"Over the past 12 months we have reviewed our achievements and looked at the entire organisation, setting out where we want to go and how we want to get there," Alroe says.

"The result is a new organisational structure, a new senior leadership team and a new team of General Managers that I am confident has the capacity to take Brisbane Airport into the next exciting phase of growth," she says.

The restructure has resulted in the creation of a new department, Strategic Performance and Development, under former General Manager of Commercial Services, Gert-Jan de Graaff.

The new department will be a ‘think tank’ focusing on future opportunities, long-term planning, growth and innovation.

Stephen Goodwin had been appointed to the role of General Manager Operations, responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Airport’s operations including terminal operations, airside operations and security, while also having oversight of the environment and development approvals areas.

Krishan Tangri has been appointed General Manager of Assets, responsible for the delivery of key Airport projects, including the new parallel runway and the domestic terminal expansion project, as well as being responsible for over $2 billion in aviation assets.

Other appointments include Andrew Brodie as General Manager Terminal Retail, Sarah Thornton General Counsel and Company Secretary, Renaye Peters General Manager Property, and Jenna Buckner as General Manager Parking and Transport Services.

Tim Rothwell remains Chief Financial Officer, while incorporating the additional responsibility of BAC's Company Secretariat department.
