Swire Cold Storage has appointed former Linfox FMCG Business Unit Asia Pacific president Damian Jones as its new Chief Executive.

Jones joins the leading cold store solutions provider after a distinguished career delivering supply chain solutions for Linfox’s food, personal care, dairy, tobacco, beverage, pharmaceutical and health care products sectors.

He was also responsible for strategic development of operations in India, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Prior to his role at Linfox, Jones’ career spanned 12 years in the oil industry at BP Australia, Oiltech Australia and GCD International.

Jones’ significant industry and management experience has also been enhanced by management roles at a small oil company and logistics supplier Mayne Nickless.

John Swire & Sons Commercial Director Greg Hughes says Jones’ credentials speak for themselves.

“We’re delighted to have such a highly qualified and experienced person on board,” Hughes says.

Hughes says Swire plans to make a formal announcement to customers about the appointment next week.

Jones will start his new role in early August.
