Two Hino workers have continued their golden run as they recently got through to the National Skills Contest
Two Mt Gambier locals will travel to Sydney next week to compete as a finalist in Hino Motor Sales Australia’s National Skills Contest.
After performing strongly in previous contests, John Dempsey and Simon van Ginneken have reached the National Final.
With three top-six performances to his name, Dempsey, who works as a service technician at Barry Maney Hino, will compete against rivals from around Australia in a competition attended by senior Hino representatives from Australia and Japan.

He will be joined by van Ginneken, a parts interpreter, who will compete in the finals for the first time.
After a COVID-enforced hiatus for the past two years, the 2022 Skills Contest final is scheduled for November 17 and will be held following several months of intense competition with the winner in each category (Parts, Service and Sales) receiving a cash prize and an ultimate VIP experience at the 2023 Repco Supercars Newcastle event.
