Australian logistics magnate Lindsay Fox has been recognised with the Personality of the Year Award at the recent Australian Freight Industry Awards over the weekend, with Victorian Transport Association CEO Peter Anderson hailing the recognition as long overdue for the industry legend.
Fox, 87, took home the award following a “record-breaking” number of applications across the awards categories.
The awards, which were announced at a black-tie gala event at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, was graced by hundreds of guests and decision-makers from across Australia’s transport industry.
“The AFIA Committee extends its sincere congratulations to every winner and finalist and thanks those who lodged an entry and shared their stories. We look forward to building on the success of this outstanding event for many years to come,” Anderson said.
“After what has been another challenging year, it was fantastic to take a moment to reflect on and celebrate our industry and those that keep pushing for greatness and embracing innovation to keep our country moving.”

Attendees at the gala diner were treated to a comedy performance from Master of Ceremonies Lizzy Hoo, a speed painting performance from Brad Blaze, and musical performances from the Matt Hetherington Band and the Zandra Trio.
2024 was the 34th instalment of the Australian Freight Industry Awards, following its inaugural year in 1990.
