Anderson to become new chair after company’s AGM in November
John Pressler is retiring as Lindsay Australia board chair and non-executive director.
Presslerwill officially leave his post after the company’s AGM on Friday November 6, 2020.
The company board praised the man who has served on the board continuously since his appointment as a director in 1997.
“The board of Lindsay Australia Limited wishes to thank Mr Pressler for his tireless leadership, guidance and generous contribution which has supported the business over a lengthy period,” it says.
“The board wishes Mr Pressler the very best for his future endeavours.”
The board notes Pressler’s “unique” knowledge and experience in the horticulture sector as a key driver to the company’s continued success in this key market.
He was awarded the medal of the Order of Australia in 2004 for services to the horticultural industry.
Pressler is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was a non-executive director of Wide Bay Australia Limited from 1988 to 2013, and chair from 1997 to 2009.
Lindsay’s rural and rail focus kept it on track in the past financial year
Richard Anderson, the current chair of Linday’s audit committee, will assume the role of chair of the board following Pressler’s retirement, the company notes.
Anderson was appointed to the board in late 2002.
He is a former partner of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, having served as the firm’s managing partner in Queensland for nine years, and also as a member of the firm’s national committee.
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a fellow of CPA Australia.
He was awarded the medal of the Order of Australia in 1997 for services to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association of Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery Foundation.
