Light refreshment for Renault Kangoo

French make adds extra items as standard

Renault is offering a refreshed Kangoo light-duty van range, with the French make seemingly loath to make too many changes for its solid performer in the light end of the market.

The MY20 Kangoo range consists of three models – the Compact M/T, Compact A/T and Maxi A/T. The Compact models are powered by an 84kW 1.2-litre petrol engine, while the Maxi comes with an 81kW 1.5-litre diesel unit.

All models now come standard with glazed 180 degree opening rear barn doors, a rear-view camera, automatic dusk-sensing headlights, rain-sensing windscreen wipers and fog lights.

Additional standard features include rear parking sensors, cruise control, hill start assist, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity with audio streaming, folding electric side mirrors and a leather wrapped steering wheel.

Two optional packs are available – Trade and Business.

The Trade Pack includes an anti-slip timber floor, full height timber side protection panelling and LED ceiling lights.

The Business Pack comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control air-conditioning, extra tinted barn door glass and a satin chrome two-tone front bumper.

Other options include Renault’s R-Link navigation and audio system with Android Auto and metallic paint.

“The Kangoo range has been very popular in Australia combining great driving dynamics with a range of payloads perfectly suited to local businesses,” Renault Australia MD Anouk Poelmann.

‘With the addition of customer-friendly features, the 2020 Kangoo is set to write another successful page in the history of the Renault brand here in Australia.”

The MY20 Kangoo is available with two solid colours – Mineral White and Urban Grey – and seven metallic – Mocha Brown, Highland Grey, Oyster Grey, Star Blue, Carmen Red, Jet Black and Poppy Red. Metallic paint adds an extra $660 RRP.

Prices before government, statutory or dealer charges are:

  • Compact 6-speed manual – $25,490
  • Compact 6-speed auto – $27,990
  • Maxi 6-speed auto – $31,490.
