LBCA impressed with Young Driver Award nominees

Transport association now processing nominations ahead of awards ceremony in March.

Work is now underway on drawing up the list of finalists for the Livestock and Bulk Carriers (LBCA) inaugural Young Driver Award.

The award, which aims to recognise emerging talent and boost the retention rates of young people in the industry, will be presented at the LBCA’s annual conference in March.

The winner will be announced from a list of three finalists and will receive a $5,000 trip to the US. Nominations for the award closed on January 9.

“Applications are now being processed in readiness for handing on to the judging committee,” the LBCA says in a message to its members.

“We have been very impressed with the applications received and we look forward to announcing the finalists.”

The LBCA’s annual conference will be staged at Jindabyne this year from March 6 to 7.

The event will cover a wide range of topical issues, including vehicle access, compliance and chain of responsibility.
