Komatsu Australia opens new western Victorian facility

The new Komatsu Australia Victorian site includes 12,016sqm of warehouse space and a 510sqm double-storey office

Frasers Property Industrial has announced it has completed a new state-of-the-art facility for Komatsu Australia in western Victoria.

The new facility for the heavy equipment manufacturer is situated at Canvas West in Victoria.

The site combines 12,016sqm of warehouse space with a 510sqm double-storey office and is targeting a five star green star design from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Komatsu’s new site is purpose built for its multi-national heavy equipment manufacturing operations of products used in construction and utility.

The warehouse features innovative automation technology, four recessed loading docks and five at-grade roller shutter doors.

Following the completion of the site, Komatsu has expanded its team at the site with 33 new starters and committed to a 10-year lease.

Frasers joined Komatsu in celebrating the opening via an official ceremony, with Komatsu Australia supply chain executive general manager Russel Hodson attending and the Bunurung Land Council Aboriginal Corporation performing a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony.

“We’d like to thank all of our partners on the project including our builder Texco Construction and Savills leasing agents, Laagan Whalan and Scott Nienhuis,” Frasers Property Industrial says in a statement.
