Braking specialist Knorr-Bremse releases the latest version of its electronic brake system for trailers

November 17, 2011

Braking specialist Knorr-Bremse is helping to make transport operations safer with the release of the latest version of its electronic brake system for trailers.

Known as TEBS G2.1, the new system integrates a number of braking and safety functions, including ABS brakes and roll stability program (RSP), into a single module.

The G2.1 system also offers an operational data recorder (ODR) to record and evaluate vehicle data and brake operation.

There is also an option for one pneumatic and three electrical outputs and up to seven electrical inputs, and also lift axle controls.

The braking functions, the anti-lock braking system, the load recognition feature and the stability program are electronically controlled as integrated functionalities of TEBS G2.1.

The trailer EBS system can be operated on eight to 32 volts, which means it can be used worldwide.

The TEBS G2.1 system is compatible with a wide range of brake systems, including conventional ABS or EBS. Power is provided via an ISO 7638 socket, while spring brakes can be applied automatically if the trailer is uncoupled, or by hand if required.
