Josh Murray joins Roads Australia Board

Roads Australia has appointed Transport for NSW Secretary Josh Murray to its Board, strengthening collaboration between government and industry leaders.

Roads Australia (RA) has announced the appointment of Josh Murray, Secretary of Transport for NSW, to its Board.

The move reinforces the organisation’s commitment to strong collaboration between government and industry in shaping Australia’s transport future.

Murray brings more than 25 years of experience across government and infrastructure delivery, including leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.

As Secretary of Transport for NSW, he leads a workforce of more than 30,000 people and oversees an ambitious program to deliver a safe, sustainable and integrated transport system for New South Wales.

A strategic addition to national transport leadership

RA Chair Aneetha de Silva says Murray’s appointment reflects the organisation’s focus on drawing expertise from across the sector.

“Josh Murray’s appointment reflects RA’s commitment to ensuring strong representation from government and industry leaders as it works to deliver better transport outcomes for all Australians,” de Silva says.

“Josh’s deep industry knowledge and commitment to collaboration across government and the private sector make him a valuable addition to the RA Board.”

Murray says he is looking forward to contributing to RA’s national agenda.

“Having engaged with Roads Australia for many years in multiple capacities, and seen their policy agenda first-hand, I’m pleased to now join the Board and work with RA’s directors and leaders – to both champion Government delivery priorities and strengthen the infrastructure sector,” he says.

RA CEO Ehssan Veiszadeh says Murray’s leadership will help guide RA’s policy and advocacy priorities.

“Josh’s leadership and unique insight will help shape RA’s policy work as we continue to support a more connected, productive and resilient transport system,” he says.

Acknowledging industry contribution

De Silva also thanked Camilla Drover, Interim CEO at NSW Motorways, for her significant contribution to the RA Board and her leadership as Chair of the Reduce, Reuse, Recover Working Group.

“Camilla’s leadership and advocacy have been instrumental in advancing RA’s policy agenda and driving sector-wide reform,” she says.

The Roads Australia Board brings together senior public and private sector leaders including Jim Betts, Secretary of the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communication and the Arts; Sally Stannard, Director-General of Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads; and Kevin Devlin, Director-General of Victoria’s Infrastructure Delivery Authority.
