Supply Chain software vendor JDA is making inroad in the Australian market since its acquisition of the global brands Manugistics and I2.

Steve McNulty says the company’s regional arm JDA Software Australia has gained more market share in the ‘unique’ Australian market in the first two quarters since the purchases than the original owner did in the last 12 months.

“We saw the opportunity to make a stronger impact in Australia’s sizeable medium-size supply chain and logistics sector,” McNulty says.

“Our research revealed there was not a lot of software choice in that market sector in this country so we brought in two solutions that are scalable.

“Nothing gets past the CIO in most businesses in Australia, so it was an imperative that any acquired software mixes well with a company’s existing architecture and infrastructure.

“These two suites are designed to be seamlessly integrated with SAP, so we are ideally
positioned to serve many industries including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, retail and industrial, of 50 employees and upwards.

“I2 and Manugistics each offer a quantifiable ROI in just three months, so our strong market impact is no surprise.

“If you can produce a better forecast from day one, then you have positive figures from day one. ERP vendors are good at being ERP vendors, but we have a core market focus which makes us specialised.

“ERP only goes so far, but for application and processes in the supply chain, the biggest companies around the world are choosing JDA Software,” McNulty says.
