Global supply chain solutions provider JD Logistics has opened a state-of-the-art fulfilment centre in Derrimut, establishing Victoria as a major hub in its Australian logistics network.

The new facility, powered by advanced robotics and full automated systems, will serve as a key sorting and dispatching site across sectors including retail, agrifood, clean energy and consumer electronics.

The Derrimut facility is set to boost JD’s operational capacity and delivery speed in Australia.

Victoria was chosen due to its strong and varied economy, excellent infrastructure, stable policies, and a well-established role as Australia’s top location for distribution and logistics. Its strong transport links and supportive business environment make it an ideal base for the company’s long-term plans in the region.

“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Invest Victoria for their outstanding support,” JD Logistics head Ethan Ju says.

“Their professional guidance and deep understanding of Victoria’s logistics landscape played a critical role in helping establish a solid presence in the region.”

JD Logistics, a subsidiary of Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com, is internationally recognised for its pioneering automation and robotics technologies. Its expansion into Australia is part of a broader global strategy following its 2021 listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

A second facility is already in the pipeline to support growing regional demand, further cementing Victoria as a gateway for next-generation logistics innovation.
