JAS Worldwide offers positive cyberattack update

JAS Worldwide’s central operations system is back online following the result of a cyberattack-induced shutdown last week

Global freight forwarder JAS Worldwide has offered a positive update following the fallout of last week’s cyberattack and has stated its central operations are now back to being fully functional.

The company reported technical disruptions on August 27 and commenced an immediate investigation which resulted in the findings of a cybersecurity incident.

The majority of JAS’ contract logistics businesses remained unaffected by the outage, and they reported email and website systems remained secure throughout despite the cyberattack.

“We are progressing steadily toward full restoration while remaining vigilant,” JAS Worldwide’s most recent statement says.

“Our central operations are fully operational, customers are being served, billing and payment systems are operational, and data integration with customers’ and vendors’ systems have been restored in most cases.

“Our team continues to work through any remaining backlogged requests, and local-specific functionalities are being tackles and resolved.

“Our customers and vendors have been communicating safely, continuously and promptly with JAS via our email system and website, which were never impacted as a result of this incident.

“We are also pleased to report our primary customer-facing portal, JAS SmartHub, is back online as well.

“We are taking a careful and step-by-step approach while closely monitoring any potential risk and implementing additional security measures to mitigate future disruptions.”

JAS Logistics was founded in Italy in 1978 and is currently headquartered in the American city of Atlanta.

It operates in over 100 countries around the world and has had a presence in Australia for three decades, where its local headquarters is based in Sydney.
