Iveco to show range of trucks at Brisbane Truck Show

Iveco says its stand at the Brisbane Truck Show will show the latest on and off-road technology it has

Italian manufacturer Iveco says it has plenty to look forward to this month, with a new prime mover ready to show off ahead of the upcoming Brisbane Truck Show.

While the company’s new S-Way prime mover has had some press thanks to a series of reviews by truck journalists, Brisbane will be the first time the general public will have the chance to experience the truck in person.

It will also be the first time the newest T-Way, a rugged off road truck, will be on show.

Representing the S-Way at the show will be two prime mover models, an AS (Active Space) 550 and AT (Active Time) 460.

Featuring advanced, high efficiency Euro6 (Step E) engines, market-leading Hi-Tronix automated transmissions and an abundance of active safety equipment, these models offer the latest in efficiency, comfort and technology from Iveco. They are available in a variety of configurations and in both prime mover and rigid variants.

The new T-Way in action

The new cabin delivers considerable aerodynamic advantages compared to previous Iveco heavy-duty models with these enhancements representing an improved 13.5 per cent Cx (drag coefficient) which can result in fuel efficiency increases of up to 3 per cent on long haul routes.

Joining the S-Way on stand in Brisbane will be Iveco’s latest off-road model, the T-Way, which replaces the Trakker range.

T-Way is available in 4×4, 6×6 and 8×4 configurations and shares many innovations and technology advancements featured in S-Way, including Euro6 (Step E) engines, Hi-Tronix transmissions and safety equipment such as Electronic Braking System (EBS), ABS and ASR (Anti-Skid Regulator) and Hill Holder.

These models also feature Daytime Running Lamps, LED headlamps (with cornering fog lights), transmission intarder and engine brake, and a tough ECE-R29.03 certified cab. An optional Lane Departure Warning System and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System are also available.

The display vehicle will be a 4×4 variant that boasts a host of off-road systems including full-time 4×4, hub reduction to all axles and front, centre and rear differential locks to provide superior traction in slippery conditions. A two-speed transfer case also delivers excellent tractability in low range, allowing T-Way to overcome steep ascents and descents easily and safely.

Further aiding off-road capabilities is a generous 33° approach angle, front parabolic suspension with dampers and stabiliser bar, and rear 3-Leaf parabolic suspension with stabiliser bar, which provides outstanding articulation while smoothing out the bumps.

Iveco will be at Stand 58 at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show.
