Award-winning model on the market after initial outing at the Brisbane Truck Show

Iveco has officially launched the new Stralis model in Australia.
The European version of the Stralis was awarded “International Truck of the Year” for 2013 at last year’s Hanover Truck Show.
A new Stralis 450 was at the Brisbane Truck Show in May, displaying a slightly different grille, air deflectors and bumper to its predecessor.
The company says the result is improved aerodynamics.
The interior of the new Stralis has also been redesigned, with “improved ergonomics and comfort”.
“Certain models of the new Stralis incorporate some of the most advanced road safety technology,” Iveco adds.
“These are EBS with the Brake Assistant Function, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) which regulates engine power and braking during a skid, and the Advanced Emergency Braking System.”
Daytime running lights will also be an option.
The Stralis offers a GCM range of 36 to 90 tonnes, with power provided by the 8-, 10- or 13-litre Cursor engine.
Standard transmission is the ZF EuroTronic II automated manual gearbox, in 12 or 16 speed configuration.
The Stralis comes with three cab variations: Active Day (AD) for short haul metro; Active Time (AT) for medium to long haul jobs; and the flagship Active Space Long (AS-L) designed for long haul jobs. All cab types include an Isri air suspended seat.
The AD, AT and AS-L models are to be
built at its Dandenong factory in Melbourne, while the smaller-engined ATi range is fully imported from Spain.
