ITS Australia names inaugural Woman of the Year

Miranda Blogg, a transport professional for over 20 years, has been named at ITS’ Woman of the Year for 2024

Miranda Blogg has been named as the inaugural Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Australia Woman of the Year due to her widespread impact of the broader transport industry.

Dr Blogg, who is the Director of Safer Roads within the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, is a qualified civil engineer with over 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors of transport.

She has worked extensively in the United States and Australia and has most recently been a driving force behind the Queensland government’s Cooperative and Automated Vehicle Initiative (CAVI), which she was appointed to oversee in 2015.

“Miranda Blogg is a formidable leader in Australia’s transport technology industry whose strategic vision and ability to unite multidisciplinary teams has delivered innovative transport solutions that will benefit all Australians,” ITS Australia CEO Susan Harris says.

“As a leader of the groundbreaking CAVI program, she has positioned Australia at the forefront of connected and automated vehicle technology, paving the way for safer and more efficient transport systems.

“Miranda is an outstanding recipient of the ITS Woman of the Year Award.”

Dr Blogg has also been a member of the Transport Certification Australia board and is a past President of the Queensland branch of the Australian Institute of Transportation Planning and Management.

“It is a tremendous honour to receive the inaugural ITS Australia Woman of the Year Award,” she says.

“I am passionate about collaboration and building trust to deliver impactful transport solutions, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my dedicated colleagues who have worked alongside me in delivering significant transport initiatives in Queensland and across Australia.”

She will be presented with the award at the Westin Perth on Thursday February 13th, 2025 at the 15th ITS Australia Awards.
