Isuzu NQR series truck recall

Wheel hub bearing bolt may not been torqued properly during assembly

Isuzu NQR series trucks sold between June 21, 2010 and December 12, 2016 have been recalled over wheel hub bearing bolt issue.

The recall notice states the bolts associated with the rear left side wheel bearing nut (the rear wheel bearing hub locking bolts) may not have been properly torqued during assembly in certain trucks.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) warns that the lock washer may loosen if either of the bolts become loose or fall out.

“If the lock washer becomes excessively loose, the bearing nut can separate and the wheel can move away from the axle housing while the vehicle is in motion,” it notes.

“If the wheel assembly moves outward from the axle housing, the vehicle may be more difficult to control.

“Braking performance can be reduced as a consequence, increasing the risk of accident.”

Isuzu Australia will contact owners of the vehicles and carry out the rectification free of charge.

Meanwhile, owners are advised to contact their dealer to book an inspection.

For more information, call Isuzu’s customer care department on 1800 035 640.
