Isuzu Motors pulls out of Russia

Isuzu Motors has announced major news regarding its truck production in the eastern European country

Global heavy vehicle brand Isuzu Motors has announced it is pulling out of the Russian market as international conflict continues to impact production.

Isuzu says the war in Ukraine has meant production hasn’t been able to resume, with Isuzu selling its stake in the business to Russian vehicle company Sollers.

A source told Kyodo News that Sollers has taken over Isuzu’s Russian factory and 200 employees.

Isuzu was first forced to stop production in Russia in March 2022 when parts supply was interrupted by the conflict, with the company losing around $12 million.

In November last year Kyodo News says Isuzu considered exiting the Russian market after first commencing Russian vehicle production in 2008.
