Vehicle manufacturer Isuzu has again left its rivals behind, with the latest truck sales figures showing it outsold its closest rival by more than 200 vehicles.

Isuzu delivered 700 vehicles in March, 220 more than Hino which handed over 480 sets of keys at the same time.

Fuso was third. It finished with 346 deliveries in the 31 days, while Mercedes-Benz waved goodbye to 179 satisfied customers. Mercedes also sold 57 trucks.

Combined, Daimler—which includes Freightliner, Fuso, and Mercedes—sold 649 vehicles. Freightliner alone sold 69 trucks.

The figure reinforces the magnitude of Isuzu’s efforts, with one brand across three segments still outselling the combined Daimler group by more than 50 units.

In the individual segments, Mercedes Benz sold the most vans at 150. Ford was next, selling 57. Volkswagen missed out by two deliveries with 55 for the month, followed by FIAT (48) Iveco (9) and Renault.

The light duty trucks market was all Isuzu, with 379 units to Hino’s 213.

Fuso delivered 182, leaving Iveco (33), FIAT (22), Ford (27), Mercedes-Benz (29) and VW (18) in their wake.

Medium duty was closer, with Isuzu’s 245 enough to keep Hino (211) in second.

Fuso was again third with 131 deliveries, comfortably outselling UD Trucks on 58.

Mercedes Benz and Iveco sold 11 each, MAN sold eight and Volvo sold six.

Kenworth finished another month and another quarter on top in heavy duty, with 149 vehicles leaving the dealerships.

Western Star offloaded 80 vehicles, followed by Volvo with 71.

Despite selling 76 trucks Isuzu remains in fourth, just one sale overall behind Volvo.

Freightliner (67) stayed clear of the tied-for-sixth Iveco and Mack.

Mack sold 49 vehicles, compared to Iveco’s 33.

Others to post credible figures include Hino (56), Mercedes Benz (46), Fuso (33), Scania (23) and MAN with a decent 30 deliveries.

DAF struggled with product availability to close the door on 11 deliveries.
