Isuzu announces People’s Choice Award winner

The final winner of Isuzu’s Truck of the Year competition has been announced

Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has announced the winner of its People’s Choice Award in its 2023 Truck of the Year Competition.

Customers and followers of Isuzu’s social media were given the chance to vote for this award, with New South Wales business What the Flush Plumbing and member Brandon Navratil getting the most votes to win the award.

“Well done to Brandon from What the Flush Plumbing for a great entry, we love to see the community brought together through the shared joy of truck ownership,” IAL marketing and advertising manager Sam Gangemi says.

Navratil and the plumbing company’s NLR 45-150 took out the award. Isuzu says the light-duty truck assists the business in servicing Bringelly and its surrounds in New South Wales.

Isuzu says it also has an unforgettable custom wrap and registration plates, with Navratil opting for a setup that allows easy access to tools and equipment.

When entering the truck into the competition, Navratil said that it snaps necks whenever people check the setup.

“The truck makes people smile and it never goes unnoticed,” Navratil says.

Gangemi says that when people took to the polls over December, competition for the award was fierce but friendly.

“It gives the community a chance to celebrate local businesses and the trucks supporting them, and it’s a great opportunity for people to give a shout out to a mate who’s been working hard all year,” Gangemi says.

“It’s also a second shot at one of our $1,000 prepaid cash card prizes for those who have taken the time to enter a truck in the competition.”

What the Flush plumbing’s truck joins the previous winners of the competition, which were selected by an Isuzu judging panel.

Grand Prize winner, Northern Territory business VTG Waste & Recycling, received a total of $7,000 in prepaid cash cards while three additional ‘series’ winners each took home a $1,000 prepaid cash card.

This year’s edition of Isuzu’s Truck of the Year officially opens again on February 1. Isuzu says many entries have already been received during January, all of which will be automatically added to the opening monthly round.

“There is no telling what the new year will bring but it’s sure to be an exciting competition filled with top notch Isuzu Trucks to get behind,” Gangemi says.

“Isuzu’s Truck of the Year has been running for almost three decades and we feel it’s as important as ever that Australia’s truckies, tradespeople, drivers and businesses receive recognition for the work they do, and the pride they take in it.

“It’s all about supporting our connected industries, so we’re very pleased that the People’s Choice Award continues to honour this community spirit.”
