CILT International Conference registrations open

CILTA is opening early bird registrations for its global CILT Conference in Perth this October

The Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) is calling for people to register for its upcoming CILT International Conference in Perth.

The event will run from October 23 to 26 and will be only the second time in 87 years that CILTA has hosted the global event in Australia.

CILTA National Chair Dr Kim Hassall says already there has been plenty of interest shown in the event.

“Already there are delegations from Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, the UK, countries in Africa and possibly Vietnam who will be coming,” Hassall told ATN. “There will also be smaller groups coming from Canada, New Zealand and Turkey to join the Australian contingent.”

Hassall says early bird registrations close on July 31 that provide savings for visitors, with the conference set to be heavily industry focused across different modes of transport.

On the program guide includes panels on logistics for bulk minerals and commodities, road freight safety innovations, shipping and global supply chain problems, as well as alternative fuels for buses and trucks.

The conference will review what happened to the transport and logistics industry during the COVID-19 pandemic while looking at current growth and the future for the sector.

Numerous women in transport sessions will also advocate the growing trend in the industry, as three ballrooms will play host to two days on sessions before the final day is filled with tours to either Kewdale, Fremantle Port or the Australian Heavy Truck and Simulator Training School.

Guest speakers at the event include CILT International president Paul Sainthouse, Pilbara Ports ‘A Goliath CEO Roger Johnston, Pilbara Heavy Haulage Group CEO Heather Jones and NHVR CEO Sal Petrocitto.

Hassall says the event is a great chance for any Australian based transport industry members to learn about international trends with the supply chain.

“Any transport players wanting to gain instant international exposure should certainly see the CILT Convention as a great opportunity,” Hassall says.
