Australian freight industry awards nominations open

The awards night will return in person in September this year

Awards chairman Mile Lean has announced that nominations are now being accepted for the 32nd annual Australian Freight Industry Awards.

The awards night is being sponsored by TWUSuper and Viva Energy Australia, as the industry says after a couple of challenging years it is looking forward to bringing people together to celebrate everything in the freight sector.

After cancelling last year’s event due to COVID-19, Lean says it is fantastic to hold the prestigious event and do so in person under the one roof.

Below are the award categories and sponsors that nominations are now open for:

  • Female leadership award – sponsored by Viva Energy Australia
  • Investment in people award – sponsored by Logical Staffing Solutions
  • Application of technology award – sponsored by Transport Certification Australia
  • Young achiever award – sponsored by Daimler Truck & Bus
  • Best practice safety award – sponsored by Gallaghers
  • Sustainable environment award – sponsored by National Transport Insurance

The AFIA event was last held in 2020, with the industry saying that the hard work completed since that night means there’s plenty of achievements worthy of nominating and celebrating this year.

The event will be held on Saturday September 3 at Crown Melbourne’s Palladium.
