ATA announces National Trucking Industry award finalists

The finalists for five national trucking industry awards have been named ahead of the Trucking Australia 22 conference.

Ahead of the upcoming Australian Trucking Association (ATA)’s Foundation Sponsors Gala Dinner at the Trucking Australia 22 conference, the ATA has released the finalists for its National Trucking Industry awards.

Winners will be announced at the gala dinner, which is part of the conference that begins on the Gold Coast on Friday May 6.

For the outstanding contribution to the industry award, the finalists are Transport Certification Services principal engineer Phillip Hodges and South East Queensland Hauliers GM Owen Lange.

The two finalists for the national trucking industry woman of the year award are Qube’s East Coast HSEQ manager bulk Annastasia Denigan and On The Pads social media administrator Leanne Dyer.

Thompson Removals’ Denis Thompson and Melvin (Glenn) Williams from Willow’s Bitumen Haulage are the two finalists for the national professional driver of the year, while Followmont Transport and Wagners have been shortlisted for the training excellence award.

Finally, the finalists for the TruckSafe John Kelly memorial award are A & R Magill, SRH Milk Haulage and SRT Logistics.

The registration deadline for the Trucking Australia 22 conference is 11.59PM on Thursday April 28.

Sessions included at the conference feature an electric truck transition chat, discussions on technology and a Daimler future leaders’ program.

Also at the conference will be a focus on improving fatigue and port safety, truck drivers as first responders and a risky business seminar.
