NHVR taps ASG in digital services deal

Three-year deal with options to extend to support borderless operations

IT provider ASG Group will provide the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) with infrastructure and managed application services over at least three years.

The new contract contains options to extend for up to seven years, and ASG will create 22 new roles to help support the NHVR’s borderless approach to regulatory services and administration.

“We are delighted to have been selected by the NHVR as the preferred partner to manage their infrastructure and managed application services,” ASG CEO Dean Langenbach said.

“The NHVR’s relationship with ASG Group is built on our mutual commitment to transparency, and we are confident that our partnership with ASG will help us deliver for all our stakeholders.”

This is not the first business ASG has done with a government transport entity.

It has previously upgraded the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads’ road-conditions service to the public.

The NHVR expects the contract will expand the organisation’s national technology footprint, to achieve better safety, efficiency and productivity outcomes for industry.

“We look forward to working with ASG as we continue to deliver consistent and streamlined regulatory services and support our growing workforce,” CEO Sal Petroccitto said

ASG notes that it has extensive experience working with public sector agencies in Queensland and Western Australia, and the company employs more than 2,000 staff nationally and has offices in seven cities across Australia and Asia.
