Cronin succeeds Carey as Armaguard CEO

Linfox company leadership succession plan outlined amid ‘challenging times’

Mick Cronin has been appointed CEO of Linfox Armaguard Group, replacing Annette Carey, who retires from the position.

The company notes Carey, the predecessor to Mark Mazurek as Linfox Logistics CEO before moving into a non-executive director role, deferred retirement to take on the Armaguard leadership role for 12 months.

Armaguard Group executive chair Peter Fox describes Carey as a true asset to the business who has been a strong and dedicated leader through challenging times and has defined the strategic framework that will enable a sustainable future for the business.

“I’d like to thank Annette for her passion and dedication over her time with Armaguard, and wish her all the very best in her retirement from full-time executive life,” Fox says.

Cronin is noted as an accomplished team leader with more than 25 years of experience with leading organisations across all aspects of the supply chain.

He joined Armaguard as NSW state operations manager in 2003, before he became NSW state manager.

Cronin was then appointed national manager general retail at Linfox, left in 2007 to pursue other opportunities, and returned in 2018 as president retail.

Fox says Cronin has led Linfox’s retail business unit to a strong position in safety, customer engagement and growth over the last three years.

“The Linfox Armaguard Board of Directors and I are pleased to announce that Mick Cronin has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Armaguard Group.

“I have the utmost faith and confidence in Mick’s ability to take the business forward.”

The appointment is effective July 19, with the Armaguard Group “continuing to focus on supporting customers and communities through the COVID-19 recovery, and has its sights firmly set on building a sustainable future for currency management and innovation”.
