Industry stalwart DApice takes the reins of ARTIO NSW

Change at top but business as usual, branch says

Laurie D’Apice is to assume the role of secretary/treasurer of the Australian Road Transport Industrial Organisation NSW Branch as of today.

D’Apice succeeds Hugh McMaster who steps down from that role after 13 years.

No changes to the day-to-day management and administration of ARTIO NSW are proposed.

“This means existing service offerings provided by ARTIO NSW to ARTIO NSW members will be maintained,” ARTIO NSW advises.

“This includes the provision of advice, advocacy and representation in areas related to awards, contract determinations and other aspects of industrial law including but not limited to redundancy, dismissal and leave entitlements.

“This also means any ARTIO NSW member can approach Laurie on any other issue of concern, irrespective of whether it relates to the National Heavy Vehicle Law, such as access, load restraint or fatigue, general road and traffic rules, workplace health and safety, or any other issue related to your business.”

D’Apice and McMaster have been and will continue to work closely together to ensure the changeover in the day-to-day management and administration is as smooth as possible.

D’Apice comes with a wealth of industrial relations experience, culminating with his present position as Linfox human relations president.
