Ron Crouch buys AG Logistics in Adelaide expansion

South Australian move bolsters dangerous goods and 3PL offering

Ron Crouch Transport is acquiring Cavan-based South Australian operator AG Logistics.

The prized capture is the current AG Logistics facility, a purpose-built fully bunded warehouse licensed to store dangerous goods, expanding RCT’s footprint in that sector.

“This ensures that our Adelaide site will be able to offer a complete 3PL [third-party logistics] solution for all DG and non-DG (including food-grade) product, which ensures consistency of service offering with all other sites within our network,” it says.

Established in 2002, AG’s website lists the site as a 9,000 square metre fully hardstand premise in the heart of northern metropolitan Adelaide.

It comes after a huge RCT expansion drive on the eastern seaboard, opening a 12,500 square metre Sydney facility and a 6,000 sq m site in Wacol, Brisbane.

The AG buy doesn’t add to RCT’s vehicle fleet but the warehouse will be the Adelaide depot for its interstate linehaul service and a key cog in its national 3PL offering.

The takeover is effective October 1, 2020.
