Hooper to become the new Sadleirs chair

Deputy chair steps up after Smith’s resignation

Eric Hooper will be the new chair of Lionel Samson Sadleirs Group (LSSG) after the resignation of incumbent Michael Smith.

Smith and Hooper were both appointed to the board in 2011, with the latter elevated from his current deputy chair role.

Hooper has also been chair of the firm’s audit and risk committee.

He is currently a partner at consulting firm Blackhouse and a former CFO at St John of God Healthcare and director of corporate advisory at Oakvale Capital.

Sadleirs announced David Cole as new CEO last year

“Eric has a deep knowledge of finance, risk and business analysis due to his experience as a director, senior executive and as a consultant,” LSSG says.

“In all of his board roles, Eric has chaired the audit and risk committees.”

The firm thanks Smith for his contribution.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing chairman Michael Smith for his outstanding service to our business,” it says.

Hooper’s tenure is effective on February 26.
