Company truck was involved in multi-vehicle crash in Melbourne
Transport operator Wettenhalls has released a statement after one of its vehicles was involved in a serious multi-vehicle crash on the Monash Freeway in Melbourne.
The collision forced the closure of all in-bound lanes this morning.
A number of people were hospitalised in the incident, with officials saying it was “an absolute miracle” that no-one was seriously hurt.
Victoria Police tells ATN that investigations are ongoing.
“This morning a Wettenhalls vehicle was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the Monash Highway,” the company says.
“Three people were injured in the accident and have been taken to hospital.
“Wettenhalls is concerned for the welfare of all people involved and extends to them its best wishes for a speedy recovery.
“At this stage the cause of the accident is not known.
“Wettenhalls will be cooperating fully with the Victoria Police investigation into the incident and will be conducting its own internal investigation.
“In order to allow the investigative process to proceed, Wettenhalls will not be commenting further at this stage.”
