Stuart Ballingall

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) has announced the appointment of Stuart Ballingall as its new executive general manager (EGM).

TCA hails Ballingall’s 20 years’ experience in the automotive and transport sectors, where he was most recently director of future vehicles and transport innovation at Transport for Victoria.

He also has previous executive experience at VicRoads and Austroads, and board governance experience with national and international committees on vehicle and transport technologies.

Ballingall will help TCA provide assurance to governments, industry sectors and end-users in the use of telematics and related intelligent technologies.

His appointment marks further change at TCA, which was acquired in January 2019 by Austroads, the peak organisation of Australasian road transport and traffic agencies.

"In a period of national and international transport reform happening now and into the future, we need someone of Stuart's proven experience in delivering complex technical programs, particularly in areas of transport technologies, information systems, policy and regulatory reform" Austroads CEO Nick Koukoulas says.

"We trust Stuart will lead TCA in a way that is innovative, drives growth and supports the state and federal governments' current and emerging transport needs.

"We are looking to build on TCA’s strong reputation and excellent work through a refresh and revitalisation of the organisation."

Ballingall’s tenure at TCA begins on May 6, 2019.
