"Emma is a highly regarded company director in Australia with over 10 years of experience and good exposure to industries relevant to Bis," chairman Graeme Hunt says.

"Emma has a skill set that will be a valuable addition to our board."

"Emma joins Bis at an exciting time, following the recent acquisition of leading underground mining services company UGM and the successful launch last month of our innovative haulage truck Rexx.

"We’re pleased that Emma has agreed to join our board as we pursue further growth."

"Bis is a great company, with a real focus on delivering sustainable customer value through innovative solutions. I look forward to working closely with my fellow board members and CEO Brad Rogers as we look to grow the business from its very solid foundations," Ms Stein said.

Steve Simpson, who was appointed to the board on a temporary basis while the recruitment process for a non-executive director was conducted, is stepping down from his board role and will remain as Bis chief financial officer.
