Miles Crawford joins HVIA board

CMV Group’s operations manager unanimously endorsed by directors

CMV Group’s Miles Crawford has joined the Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA) board.

Operations manager at the Crawford-family-owned heavy vehicle dealership group, HVIA reports Crawford’s appointment was universally endorsed by directors.

His career in the heavy vehicle industry began at Volvo Group Australia in heavy-duty truck development and industrialisation.

He then joined Westport Fuel Systems in Canada to lead key projects, developing alternative powertrain solutions with major European and Asian truck manufacturers, HVIA notes.

Crawford says he has a strong focus on technological developments that improve heavy vehicle productivity, performance and safety on Australian roads.

“At CMV Group, we are constantly evolving our operations and customer engagement to ensure we continue to provide superior service to our business partners,” he says.

“New technology and operational systems are a key focus in our ongoing development and future success.

“I am excited to join the HVIA Board and use my skills and experience to the betterment of the entire heavy vehicle industry.”

HVIA CEO Todd Hacking welcomes Crawford to the association’s board.

“The breadth of Miles’ experience will be a great asset to our Board; particularly noting how he has been applying his passion and knowledge with CMV Group in the areas of technology, transformation and people,” Hacking says.

“Representing the full life cycle of heavy vehicles, dealerships and their service centres are a strong growth area in our membership.

“While we have a very strong value proposition across all sectors of the heavy vehicle industry, we continue to build on that to ensure our efforts are focused on the things that enable and drive the industry’s growth and prosperity.

“That includes ensuring that the case for fleet renewal is strongly advocated, particularly to ensure that safety technologies are universally adopted.

“Miles also brings fresh insights into workforce and career path development and a passion for developing our industry’s skills and resources.”
